Noora Emilia Saarelainen from Finland, International Relations BA
I spent my high school exchange here in Budapest and instantly fell in love with the city and the culture. When I started to look for universities abroad, Metropolitan was one of the few in Europe to offer a bachelor degree in International Relations. This inspired and motivated me to come back to this lovely city which had once captured my heart. Together, with our international students from all around the world I feel like we are one big family. Now three years later, since my exchange, I can proudly consider this as my second home.
Ulvi Garasharuv from the Netherlands, Communication and Media Studies MA
Last semester, I did my graduate internship at the International Office of METU, and that experience surpassed my initial expectations. One of the main reasons that made me decide to stay here is the university's international ambience, having students from literally all over the world. Besides that, I was also very enthusiastic at the idea of doing my master in such a vibrant city; there is pretty much anything a student wish could do in and around the city.
Sakura Kasai from Japan, Communication and Media Studies BA

I have always wanted to become an artist. It was not easy to decide what I want to do more - to make projects on the computer, or to draw portraits, so when I heard about METU I realized that I can do all of these things there. Since the first days of my studies, I became sure on 110% that all my dreams will come true. Here is a very good atmosphere, and all of the teachers are very friendly, helpful and professional. Deidre Chikukwa from Zimbabwe, Tourism and Catering BSc
My name is Deidre and I am a second-year student here at Budapest Metropolitan University studying my Bachelors in Tourism and Catering. I am from Zimbabwe and I am 20 years old. My favourite course is Catering and Gastronomy Studies. It is such a fascinating subject about the science of food and beverages and the lecturer makes it a very fun course. It reminds me why I chose Tourism and Catering as a degree program
My experience in Budapest has been by far the best experience I have had outside of Zimbabwe and my first year of university was a blast. This university has given me the great opportunity to meet people from different parts of the world and from all walks of like. It is a very modern university with the loveliest administration who made being a first-year student not so stressful.
Yizati Paizula from China, Commerce and Marketing BA
One part of the university experience is to study hard and work, another part is socializing and meeting new people. METU offers you opportunity to develop yourself in both spheres. Teachers don’t push you in a direction that you don’t identify yourself with, they show you the way and you can pursue it to achieve self-realization. Teachers are very friendly, you feel free to ask questions when you don’t understand something or need help. They will explain you everything patiently.Teachers will support you, you can develop yourself as much as possible.
The university is full of international students from all over the world, from different cultures. It is easy to make new friends from different countries.
Budapest itself is an amazing city, you can find everything you need here for a perfect student life. A lot of cultures, vibrant nightlife. Hungary is very safe and affordable country
Juuso Aleksi Mattila from Finland, International Business Economics, BA
When I first applied to Metropolitan’s International Business Economics program I wasn’t really sure if it was my right choice for the future and all the information seemed overwhelming at first but after a while, I realised that this university, students & teachers were even better than I’ve could have imagined. The program I am studying covers so many interesting topics, especially when most the teachers has really good first-hand experience on the subjects and on the seminars we have fluent interaction between students and teacher, which makes the studying feel very personal and professional. People I study with are mostly from really various backgrounds and countries which is great! I really enjoy spending time with them on many different occasions such as having a coffee, doing group works, going for sightseeing or going full-time party mode to countless different parties and event what Budapest has to offer. The weather, architecture, castles, baths have and will keep amazing me again and again. I haven’t had a day that I would have the regret of moving to Budapest and starting to study in this great city and I definitely recommend it to everyone!
Mohd Nafis Md Salim from Malaysia, Tourism and Catering BSc
Metropolitan University in Budapest is a one-of-a-kind wonderful choice to be studying abroad. I am grateful that I had a chance to study in METU. The process to apply to this university was quick when I did the Skype™ (online) interview by the International Officer. It was friendly and of course, I was a bit nervous. Even though it was just via a video call, it was my first time experienced that type of interview. Usually, I will be in a situation of face to face with a HR for an interview. The program that I am taking currently is my second major for Bachelor in Tourism and Catering. As my first degree, I was studying in Mobile Programming. I learned a lot from IT-based. Now, I need to gain my experiences with the business management, financial, economics and accounting. The culture in METU campuses are fresh as the air from the top of a bloom spring hill. New and bold. Full of talented lecturers and students.
Goldie Majtas from UK, Film and Media Studies, BA
Even though I have only been at Budapest Metropolitan University for a year, I have already had one of the best years ever. Not only because I'm living in such a beautiful city filled with history and culture, but because I have felt so welcome in such a different place. At first, like any normal person I was nervous about coming here alone, however from the first open day at the university I felt such a feeling of community, I felt welcomed and so pleased as my anxiety quickly drifted away. The course has also helped me learn more about a field I a determined to work in. My lectures have been very helpful and have guided me through the first year with ease. I have met people from all over the world through my course and through people on the Erasmus programme. I have made some lovely friends who I hope to stay in contact with after my studies. Overall my first year at MET has been a wonderful experience filled with excitement and happiness and I would recommend it to anyone! take the leap of chance you’ll be surprised how much you enjoy it!

I was interested to find a quality BA programme in Tourism in Europe and as Budapest is one of the best cities to live in Europe, I chose Metropolitan University among other options. And I am very satisfied with my choice. METU has a really good environment for studies, friendly professors, helpful staff. The international student community is so united and interconnected, basically, everyone knows each other. University cares about its students and they literally motivate us to become a community which you cannot find in any other university in Budapest if you are an international student. Mukhmmadobidbek Abidjonov from Uzbekistan, International Relations BA
I am totally happy to be one of the students of Metropolitan University. I had some doubts before enrolling to this university but everything has changed once I came to the Budapest. The city is amazing, with beautiful architecture and people are very kind and always smiling. Nightlife here is in high level. Before coming I received all information step by step which was very helpful for me. Members of Metropolitan are very helpful and well organized especially Ms. Luibov Konstantinova who helped me a lot to understand how to handle the problems regarding studies. She is very friendly, helpful and she is the person who can assist you whenever you want. Faculty of International Relations is new in this university. But teaching stuff has an excellent and professional experience. Quality of lessons in high level and well organized.
All in all, Metropolitan is a place where you will enjoy studying, meet lots of international and positive people.

Being a Metropolitan student changed me in many ways by being able to meet students from many different cultures, where I wouldn't have met if I did not come to metu. What I like the most about the university is the diversity of the degree courses which I can choose from. For example, being a Business Administration student I have a chance to get a degree from Coventry University as well!
Hejia Liu from China, Communication and Media Studies BA
I loved welcome weekend so much, it is one of the best sets of METU. As well I enjoyed the Multimedia Application course a lot because the professor is responsible for us instructed with passion instead of teaching only, it's a really great guide. I am enjoying the language course now, it's interesting even though sometimes it can be hard to master. I remember the event "Meet the rector”, it's such a wonderful experience where we talked a lot with career center and also rector. That was a meaningful evening. Marketing course is one of my favorite ones even though I am not good at it. Buti t is truly an interesting course in my mind, and of course very enthusiastic instructor.

As for the Management and Leadership program, it is considered as the best beginning for me in my future career which I intend to work as a projects manager, which is a qualitative leap in my career as an Urban Planner, from the technical stage to the managerial stage and how to operate your own business. We study many useful and basic teaching materials in the field of management (e.g. Innovation and Knowledge Management, Strategic Management and Management and Organization Theories. My studies at the Metropolitan University are an interesting and useful experience and a milestone in my professional life.
