Incoming staff exchange

Each year Budapest Metropolitan University welcomes a number of academic and non-academic staff members from its partner institutions. They visit our university with the purpose of teaching or training. The Erasmus+ staff mobility programme offers great opportunities for acquiring innovative teaching methods and exchange of good practices, and contributes to professional development.
At Budapest Metropolitan University the staff mobility programme is implemented by the International Directorate. Teachers and non-academic staff of partner institutions are welcome to contact us by emailing erasmus@metropolitan.hu.

If you want to know more about the rules and regulations do not hesitate to contact us. We are more than happy to guide you and provide all the necessary information for your successful mobility.
The host department at our university is responsible for organisational aspects of the mobility, and should be the primary contacts for any participant for any arrangements related to the mobility. Interantional Directorate of METU is responsible for coordination and the necessary signature and verifications such as: Mobility agreement, Certificate of attendance, Invitation letter.

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE FOR APPLICANTS

10 steps for Erasmus+ Incoming Staff Mobility for teaching or training

1. If you are interested in coming to Budapest Metropolitan University (hurray!) feel free to contact us at erasmus@metropolitan.hu. Please be sure to introduce yourself and clarify if you are coming for teaching or training mobility and indicate the planned period of the mobility.

2. For teaching mobility we require a C1 English language certificate, for training B2. You will need to send us a proof in your first e-mail. If you do not have a language certificate, an official verification from your University is also fine. Of course, if you are coming from an anglo-saxon country we do not require any certificate.

3. Once we received your enquiry our colleague, Tibor Gadácsi, International relations officer will get back to you with all the necessary steps and the contacts of the department you wish to visit.

4. Please note that the process of introducing yourself, contacting the proper person and agreeing on the exact topic/aim and date of your mobility is your responsibility.

5. Make sure to cc us always after you contacted the head of the department.

6. If you finalized your visit with the head of the department we will issue you an official agenda and invitation letter.

7. You will have to send us your mobility agreement in order to get it signed. We will scan it back to you as soon as we signed it.

8. After that you can start to plan your travel. If you will need any help we are always here to help you.

9. When you arrived to our campus, our colleague will wait for you to help you get along in the campus. If you have any documents to be signed signed (hard copy of your agreement, certificate of teaching/training period) submit it our Erasmus+ Office (office F110, main campus).

10. On the last day of your mobility we will give back all your documents.

10+1. Erasmus+ Staff Mobility is for exchanging ideas and practical skills, to strengthen your personal vocation as an academic staff member. But we advise you to take some time for you to discover our beautiful capital and have a first hand experience about how wonderful Budapest is. Also, do not forget to buy some souvenirs for your family, friends and colleagues. ;)
