METU art students support LEGO Foundation project
The non-profit organization for inclusion of people with disabilities ‘Egy Sima egy Fordított’ created a boardgame with the aim to support educating children and young people about disabilities.
The project was realized with funding from the LEGO Foundations and with the help of art students and professors of Budapest Metropolitan University, who supported the creative process and creation of the boardgame with their professional knowledge.
The boardgame provides schools with the opportunity to educate children about disabilities and inclusion in a playful way. The game will help in reaching a thousand more children in this academic year and will already be available at eight schools starting from the 22nd of September.
METU students were able to join the project on a voluntary basis after registering for the Social Design course, which was held last year by Katalin Szőke and Zita Kismarty-Lechner, professors of the Art and Design Theory Institute.
The participating students, Gergő Fuxreiter, Dorottya Peller and Liza Feil worked together closely with the organization and supported the project with their design, video editing and graphic design skills and expertise. Our students created the animation introducing the boardgame, and they worked on many other parts of the projects, such as the design of the assets.
We would like to congratulate our students, colleagues and all those who supported this amazing project!
