The topic of my thesis is the Hungarian social design in the 21th century, which helps people with disabilities. The purpose of my research is to present design works made between 2000 and 2015, as well as to expansively analyse national design theories, awards, environment-, and subject culture of underprivileged people, emphasising historically significant examples. I demonstrate several reasons that affects on medically, psychically damaged and underprivileged people. Furthermore, I show solutions which could be of help in their reintegration to society, enhance their independence and minimize their dependency on others’ help.
My thesis presents the evolution of the European social design, including the formation, of the Hungarian social design, in the previous and following years of 2000, which supports handicapped people with modern solutions and ideas.
It is my personal aim to raise attention on our responsibility of underprivileged people and those who has reduced capacity to work.
