My thesis is based on the deep exploration of the russian philosophy and science of literature in the 19th centaury. Its base is about mainly Dostojevsky and his well-known masterpiece, Crime and Punishment. In the beginning, I study the concept of crime in the aspect of both relegion and novel point of view. After these, I apply the Szondi Lipot’s fate analysis to the characters of Crime and Punishment and to Dostojevsky himself. This is followed by a critic about the exhibition hosted by the Musey d’Orsay in 2010, which was mainly about Dostojevsky’s famous novel. After the complete exploration of the writing from philosophy, science of literature, fate analysis and fine arts point of view, the last third of my thesis is about what are the effects Dostojevsky and his novel have made to the after-ages. To examine this, I chose Camus and Pilinszky, whom had Dostojevsky as a role model. It was my intention to solve the mystery of the “Dostojevsky-effect”, what is behind it, and how could it effect us so drastically after so many years.
