In my thesis I introduce social design and its products, events, projets from 21st century. First, I try to give a definition of social design and some of other definition which connenct to social design. I introduce the development of social design and the important professional role of Victor Papanek.
In the second chapter I represent contemporary international social design products, which were made for underprivileged, disabled people including other products that have won one of the most emblematic social design awards, such as, Index Award. In the end of the chapter I present the importance of Hungarian contemporary social design products and projects. Also, I introduce products that have won the Hungarian Design Award.
In the last chapter I demonstrate my projetct. This is a conference that is about importance of Hungarian contemporary social design. At the conference the invited Hungarian designers and theorist introduce themself and talk about their products and art working. I present my project from work plan to execution.
In the thesis I conclude, that social design is important and popular. Those products can give opportunities for disadvantaged people. In Hungary there are a few talented designer who their products and projects improve the quality of life of disadvantaged people.
