uruguay-cartel-poster-festival-2020

The Uruguay Cartel Poster Festival 2020 will be held between 29-31 May in the Centro Cultural Bastión de Carmen in Colonia del Sacramento with two categories. It will feature 20 selected Uruguayan student works alongside 60 selected international posters. The slogan for the International Poster Competition is “Social Degrade”, while for the domestic students is “Capitalism vs. nature”.

Among the 60 selected international posters, several of the METU's creative works have been included: Miklós Zsemberi-Szígyártó, Lilla Antal-Bartalis, Anna Turóczy graduates of our Graphic Design MA program and Júlia Horváth and Mihály Mózes our current Graphic Design MA students.

Our instructor, Krisztián Gál, was a member of the international jury.

The event, organized by the Uruguay Cartel, aims to present posters from all over the World and celebrate the genre of the poster itself.

Posters have been used for centuries as means of communication: they can provide a powerful framework for political issues, war propaganda where appropriate, and the distribution of all kinds of public information. In addition, they are used daily to sell commercial goods and services. But beyond functional existence, there is another layer to this genre: it serves as a canvas for millions of designers around the world.
