MUSIC IS BORN- AN IMPRO NIGHT WITH JANOS PALOJTAY

János Palojtay pianist featured the texts of Jean-Luc Nancy, a French philosopher, on an impro a piano concert last month.
Improvisation is a special way of making music. We can witness the way musicians connect to philosophical texts - and what is created at this time.

The world-famous philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy has accepted our invitation to participate in the project in which we work with our students, educators and invited artists on the topic 'in statu nascendi' by creating a reading out original writing. As part of the project, we are also planning to publish a volume that will include Nancy's unpublished writings.

The opening event was a piano concert- during the event, the audio material was recorded in order to be used later by the project participants for their creative processes. The concert was played by János Palojtay, a pianist, who had been asked to improvise on the texts before their publication.

Participants in the project: dr. Gabriella Uhl, associate professor, dr. Zsuzsanna Pörczi, associate professor; and lecturers & students of the Institute of Design and Art Theory.
