Join us to do sport at METU. In September 2019 as a result of our students’ request the following sports were launched at the University. Ever since all our developments have been introduced in accordance with the students’ feedback. What can you expect during the trainings? Excellent mood, great team spirit, professional and devoted trainers. If you are competitive, you’ll have the opportunity to face a challenge and try yourself at competitions held in each semester. Do sport, enjoy yourself and find fun with others, be a successful member of our teams or take advantage of the opportunities offered to people who love individual sports.
If you want to join any of our sports, please visit the METU Sport Coospace Scene!
My Goal is to make you love the class, and not just move because we have to, or because we feel like we must, in order to make up for late night snacks. I want this class to feel relaxing and charge you up. In my exercises, we will move the whole body, occasionally focusing more on 1 muscle group. The exercises will be self body weighted, you don’t need to bring anything else, just yourself. If you have any questions, please write to me! It’s always easier together. I am looking forward to seeing you all!
Zsuzsanna Szilárd Dr.
I am offering a healthy lifemode to students, I motivate my surroundings, and I lead by example. The spine training is done specifically in sitting and laying positions. The goal is to strengthen the core muscles, while sparing the spine. We will begin with a thorough warm-up, continuing with targeted muscle strengthening, and we will finish with thorough stretching, and relaxation. During these exercises, I will continue to tell you what to do, what to look out for, and how to do them properly.
Pole dancing is an increasingly common sport today, that requires not only physical stamina and endurance, but also flexibility.
I often come across a pole dancer who can’t move up a level, because he or she isn’t flexible enough, or doesn’t even have the right muscles to do it. In this class we will develop these skills, so that you will be able to master the starting, and the advanced elements and combinations of pole dancing.
In the first half of the class, after a quick warm-up, we perform strengthening exercises, and then in the second half, we close the series of exercises with a stretch requiring a larger breath, where we move the muscles specifically needed for the execution of the elements that can be performed on the pole.
Whether you are a complete beginner or even an advanced pole dance, I will always have a challenge for you according to your own abilities.
I look forward to seeing you, if you want to move towards your goals unharmed, in a good mood, or if you just want to try something completely new!
Yoga means unity, the unity of body and mind, the perfect coordination. This is what we develop with different exercises originating from ancient traditions and proved by modern science on our occasions. In our sessions we practise yoga asanas, breathing exercises, participating in guided meditations and refresh our minds to be able to continue our activities with being more energized in every aspect of our life.
Dancing is one of the best ways of expressing yourself in the whole world, having a lot of positive effects on your body and mind. At the same time, the participants can get to know each other, make new friends and have loads of great experiences. The METU dance lessons are for all those students who love dancing and would like to master new ways of dance forms. The focus is mostly on Latin music and dance mixed with urban style elements. By joining METU Dance, like in case of other sport trainings at the University, you can become more conscious about yourself, other cultures and lifestyles as well as becoming more empathetic to people who are different from us.
