Prof. Alexander Roos, Rector of the Hochschule dem Medien(HdM) in Stuttgart, one of Germany's top innovation experts, visited METU in April. Prof. Alexander Ross was invited to METU by our vice-rector of innovation, Dr. Ferenc Kiss. He was accompanied by Dr. Hartmut Rösch, head of the HdM Generator Startup Center, Germany's best-known university startup center, who recently received the honorary associate professor title from METU. The purpose of the visit was to explore the possibilities for widening cooperation between the two institutions which is in place since the start in 2012. Guests visited the campuses of both faculties, met supervisors, instructors, heads of department and institutes, and other METU leaders.

Prof. Roos also gave a lecture titled The University and Corporate Knowledge Transfer, in which he told the audience about examples from Stuttgart. After Prof. Roos's presentation, Dr. Hartmut Rösch presented their student support activities and their international cooperations. An informal conversation with the participants followed the lectures. As a result of the visit, several initiatives have been drafted, including student study exchange, teacher co-operation and joint trainings.
