Foresight Program: 20 Students Training for a Week in Belgium

Back from the Future!

Exhilarating mental challenges awaited students of the Budapest Metropolitan University in Antwerp. Within the Foresight Program, twenty mixed-national students trained in Belgium for a week, seeking answers on the path to the social phenomenon of the so-called preferred future in 2050, which the project team defined.

Belgian, Dutch, Turkish, Basque, and METU students, of course, worked together from a variety of situations and media, as part of the daily 6-hour activities. On the very first day, Vilmos Vass and Gábor Bódis, instructors at METU, led the participants into the world of creativity, helping with alignment and warming up.

Perhaps the most exciting thing is, in addition to the guidance mentioned before, relying on their own previous research, presenting and visualizing your ideas in such a creative way that they can open up additional thoughts and perspectives even for the trainers. The biggest challenge was, how different visions and concrete steps are coordinated and brought to a common denominator.

In the meantime, the closing day told us how they had defined the problems. Also, what they thought about the possible future, and finally, what business model will bring them the most desirable future through practical steps.
