The aim of my thesis is to introduce the IKEA Group thoroughly its operations, organizational structure and its growth since the foundation of the group. The first part of my thesis introduces the scandinavian model as an economic environment where the IKEA was founded. I write about the progress of the IKEA Group with a timeline with the important milestones and about the business concept IKEA uses.  Further I’am explaining the foundation of the Hungarian branch of the company, and its performance in the Hungarian market. In the first part, at the fourth chapter I explain the structure of the Kamprad sphere companies’ structure and their most important figures.
The following part of my thesis explains development of the IKEA concept, while emphasizing the importance of the corporate social responsibility and sustainability in the perspective of IKEA. In this part another chapter introduces the operations of the IKEA Foundation using real precedents and case studies.
The last part of my thesis introduces the IKEA design from the scandinavian origins to the contemporary democratic design’s current standing. The IKEA’s two major design lines, using the PS and the Stockholm collections as an example.
