Darkroom
Dezső Szabó, one of our Photography professors, has won a silver medal at the prestigious Tokyo International Photo awards for his album ”Darkroom 2019”.
The book was nominated for the award’s Book/Fine Art section by the Hungarian Museum of Photography and Flóris Rómer Museum of Art and History.
The international jury of 22 professionals had members from almost every field of photography: gallery managers, photographers, festival directors etc.
The monograph contains four series of Dezső Szabó from 2015 to 2018, with an introduction and analysis by Gábor Pfisztner. The book belongs to the series of publications of the Hungarian Museum of Photography presenting the work of the most prominent contemporary photographers in the highest quality design and print available.
The exclusivity of the series is enhanced by the low number of copies of each volume, limited to an average of 100 copies. They have introduced such authors as Zsolt Péter Barta(CodeX., 2007), György Tóth (2007), Gábor Kerekes (Observations, 2008), Mária Pecsics (Cultura, 2015), Ákos Czigány (Bet, 2017). The series will continue in the near future with the monographs of Tibor Gyenis and Gábor Gerhes.
