Balázs Simon shortlisted for the Young Guns 17

Animation director Balázs Simon, who graduated from our Animation BA, is shortlisted for the Young Guns 17, the One Club's Best Under 30 Creatives. The competition for young talents selected 81 participants from 500 entrants, including Balázs. It is the first global organization to celebrate and reward people working in the field of creative communication. As it started in 1920, it soon has a 100-year history. Held for 17 years, Young Guns is for creatives Under the age of 30. The winner announcement will be on the 20th of November, and we'll be cheering for Balázs!

"Of course, it is a great honor to be selected, even I was surprised! If this can be called success, it is just as an indicator of failure. There are many more stories I could tell. When something didn't work out as it was in my head, or I had to realize that I was thinking the wrong way. These are the lessons to be learned, and they will drive you forward. Already in my diploma year, I was aiming for this competition, it was five years to get here. Not only is this time, but I am also constantly learning how the domestic and the international market works. The value of communicating with other people is what it's all about! I trust this is the beginning of a long journey."

Balázs graduated from our Animation BA in 2014. After leaving university, he started working as animation director for a year at Umbrella Studio. He has been freelancing now for a year, he thinks it was time to actively explore opportunities, choosing among them, and going in the direction that inspires him.
