METU on the Move

At METU one of our main goal is to show our incoming international students not only Budapest, but other intresting parts of Hungary and Hungarian life as well. We organize wide rage of programs including one- and two-day trips with budget-friendly participation options to make sure that every student has the opportunity to be part of the METU student community.

Metu On The Move Trips - 2022/2023 Semester 

METU in Wonderland - Trip to Szilvásvárad

  • Destination: Szilvásvárad
  • Date:  2022.09.24.
  • Description:
    As part of the Metu on The Move program we organized a trip to Szilvásvárad. We started our day with hopping on a forest railway to travel to the Fátyol waterfall from where we had a little trip back to the center of the village. As the closure of the trip we had a lunch at the Gasthaus restaurant.

Metu On The Move Trips - 2021/2022 Semester 


Semester Closer: Esztergom

  • Destination: Esztergom
  • Date:  2022.05.14. 
  • Description:
    As a part of the Metu on The Move program we organized a trip to Esztergom. With the students we started our day with visiting the Basilica, then we hopped on a Dotto train to travel to Párkány, Slovakia where we had a boat trip along the river Danube. After lunch as the closure of the trip we visited the Castle Museum.

METU On The Move - Székesfehérvár

  • Destination: Székesfehérvár

  • Description: 
    As a part of the Metu on The Move program we organized a trip to Székesfehérvár. With the students we visited the Bory Castle, participated in a guided walking tour to explore the city and had some fun at the Toy Museum. 

Getaway to Eger

  • Destination: Eger & Szilvásvárad
  • Date:  2021.10.23-24. 
  • Description: 
    As a part of the Metu on The Move program we organized a two days getaway trip. With the students we visited the Castle of Eger and learned some intresting facts about the wine regions during the Town Under the Town guided tour. On the second day we visited Szilvásvárad where we went for a little hike and explored the Szalajka Valley. 

Welcome Day 

  • Destination: Visegrád
  • Date:  2021.09.25. 
  • Description: 
    As a part of the Metu on The Move program, we organized a trip dedicated for our Freshmen. With the students we visited the Castle of Visegrád, participated in a Knights' Tournament and had some fun at the Visegrád Bobsleigh. Before heading to home, we had a nice dinner together at a Renaissance Restaurant.  


Erasmus Day 

  • Destination:  Tihany & Balatonfüred
  • Date: 2021.09.18.
  • Description: 
    As a part of the Metu on The Move program, we organized a trip dedicated especially for our Guest Students. This year we visited Tihany and Balatonfüred, 2 beautiful town around the well-known Lake Balaton. The students explored the Abbey of Tihany, tried some lavender ice-cream and participated on a beautiful boat trip. As the closure of the event we had a nice dinner with wine tasting at a local restaurant.

Orientation Day 2021 Fall

  • Destination: Budapest

  • Description: 
    Orientation Day is a program for the first year students, organized by METU at the start of every semester, to share useful information about their studies and student life here at the university. This year as the closure of the event we went on a sightseeing trip to show Budapest's beauty spots for the freshmen.
